Safety Clamps
Safety Clamps help safeguard against dropping strings of flush joint tubing, drill collars, or non-shouldered tubulars into wellbores. They provide dozens of money and time-saving applications in addition to increased protection against fishing jobs.
Depending on the size of your tubulars, Ramey Martin offers the Type “T”, “C”, and “MP” safety clamp to ensure a perfect fit for your application. Manufactured in accordance with API 7K specifications, our safety clamp design prevents its use as a hoisting device.

Type C Safety Clamp (16)
The RMET Type C Safety Clamp is one of the most valuable tools on the rig floor. The Safety Clamp consist of individual links, flexibly hinged together. Each link has a separate tapered slip with a spring loaded insert. The link acts like a gripping member similar to a tapered rotary slip. When tightened, each link applies an initial firm grip on the surface of the tubular. Should the pipe start to fall or a load increase occurs against the slip, the tapered inserts wedge tighter against the pipe to prevent further movement. RMET offers a wide variety of Type C Safety Clamps designed to fit tubulars up to 43 inches. Gripping pressure remains uniform around the pipe, therefore, reducing the likelihood of crushing thin-walled pipe or damaging their surfaces. Each Type C Safety Clamp link assembly is interchangeable as a unit, thus making the safety clamp readily adaptable to virtually any diameter. Each link added to the clamp changes the effective working range diameter by approximately 1 inch. The Safety Clamp is made from heat-treated alloy steel for strength and gripping ability. Type MP Safety Clamp (24)
The Ramey Martin Type MP Safety Clamp provides safeguarding against dropping strings of flush joint pipe while making up of breaking out the drill string. The multi-link design provides uniform pressure around the pipe, thus reducing the risk of crushing or damaging the pipe. RMET offers a variety of Type MP Safety Clamps designed to fit tubulars 2 7/8" - 30 1/2". Each link assembly is interchangeable as a unit, thus making the safety clamp readily adaptable to virtually any diameter. The safety clamp is made from heat-treated alloy steel for strength and gripping ability. The Type MP Safety Clamp comes with a nut and wrench and its own aluminum box. Type T Safety Clamp (3)
The Ramey Martin Type T Safety Clamp uses the same gripping principle as the Type C Safety Clamp. It is designed for small diameter pipe 1 1/8" - 4 1/2" OD. Each link changes the effective ranges of approximately 1 inch diameter. For sizes larger than 4 1/2" OD, the Type C Safety Clamp should be used. All Type T Safety Clamps come complete with nut and wrench. Available storage box sold separately.
